London Homes vs. Index Funds: Which Investment Performed Better Over the Last Decade?
Over the past decade (2014-2024), London house prices saw significant nominal growth, but real returns often lagged behind inflation, particularly for flats. In contrast, diversified index funds within a Stocks and Shares ISA generally offered superior inflation-adjusted returns, alongside greater liquidity and lower transaction costs. For pure capital growth, index funds proved to be the more financially rewarding investment.
